London: South of the River

Crawl through South London from its beating heart at the Elephant and Castle northwards to the banks of the River Thames. Walking just over a mile and visiting up to six pubs on the way, you will follow in the footsteps of pilgrims and pirates; convicts and coachmen; traders, travellers and traitors. You will encounter Chaucer, Shakespeare and Dickens; Samuel Pepys and Dr. Johnson; the Great Fire of Southwark and Jack Cade’s Rebellion, not to mention some of the most famous inns in London and beyond. Lasting 2½ – 3½ hours, take a crawl through history ‘south of the River’.
